What Is This Tool?
NZ PR Calculatoris a free online points estimator for New Zealand's Skilled Migrant Category Resident Visa (SMC). The SMC uses a points-based system to assess whether a skilled worker qualifies to apply for permanent residency in New Zealand.
Our calculator mirrors the official Immigration New Zealand (INZ) points table, allowing you to quickly see how your age, work experience, qualifications, job offer, and other factors add up — before you submit a formal Expression of Interest (EOI).
Why We Built It
Understanding the SMC points system can be confusing. Official INZ documentation is thorough but dense. We wanted to create a clean, mobile- friendly interface that makes self-assessment fast and accessible — whether you're a nurse in Manila, a software engineer in Seoul, or a tradesperson in London planning your move to New Zealand.
The site was built using modern web technologies (Next.js, Tailwind CSS) and is hosted on Vercel for reliable, fast performance worldwide.
